In the 13th season of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians managed to win the title for the fifth time by defeating Delhi Capitals by five wickets. The 13th season was also special for the Delhi team as it got the league final for the first time in 13 years. Fast bowler Rabada, who played a key role in leading Delhi to the finals, got the prize for his brilliant performance and managed to capture the Purple Cap.

Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kagiso Rabada kept the purple cap with him after the IPL-13 final. Rabada got the Purple Cap from Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah. South African fast bowler Rabada had 29 wickets from 16 matches before the final match. After the final, he has now taken 30 wickets from 17 matches and hence he has named the Purple Cap.

Bumrah did not get a single wicket in the final and was second in the list of bowlers who took the most wickets with 27 wickets in 15 matches. Bumrah's teammate Trent Boult was third with 25 wickets and Royal Challengers Bangalore leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was at number four with 21 wickets.

At the same time, leg-spinner Rashid Khan of Sunrisers Hyderabad was at number five with 20 wickets in 16 matches. Jofra Archer of Rajasthan Royals managed to take 20 wickets in 14 matches. However, due to Rajasthan Royals being out in the league stage, Archer did not get a chance to increase the number of wickets.

Talking about the Orange Cap, KL Rahul retained his possession by scoring 673 runs even after the final match. Dhawan had a chance to beat Rahul, but he missed the final.
