Music legend and Ilayaraja-Yuvan Shankar Raja's close relative, Sasidharan passes away!

 

The Ilayaraja-Yuvan Shankar Raja family has lost one of their close relatives Sasidharan who passed away early this morning.  He was Ilayaraja's late wife Jeeva's younger brother and the uncle of Yuvan, Karthik Raja and Bharadharani.  He was also a cousin of Gangai Amaran.

Sasidharan was an accomplished bass guitarist and considered as one of the best Tamil Nadu has ever produced.  His distinct music can even now be heard in classic Ilayaraja songs such as 'Kodiyile Malligai Poo', 'Vaanile Thenila",  'Aasai Nooru Vagai' and 'Chinna Chinna Vannakuyil' amongst thousands of other songs.

Celebrities from the music and the film world of Kollywood are expressing their condolences to the Sasidharan family in person as well as on social media.  RIP!
