Nearly 1,400 COVID cases in WP alone; Highest in Gampaha

 It has been reported that 1,393 COVID cases out of 1,914 cases in the country yesterday were from the Western Province, the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid Outbreak said.

Accordingly, the majority of 591 cases were reported in the Gampaha District.

Another 434 patients have been reported in the Colombo District while 368 cases in the Kalutara District reported.

In addition, 127 cases have been reported from the Kurunegala District.

Among the highest cases reported in the Gampaha District were, 95 cases from Seeduwa and 50 from Wattala. 

Among the highest cases reported in the Colombo District were 38 from Slave Island, 35 from   Narahenpita, 31 from Borella in the Colombo Municipality Council area and 30 patients from Maharagama and 20 in Piliyandala police areas.

Also, 85 Covid cases were reported in the Bandaragama police area in Kalutara District yesterday.
