DMT waive penalties due to closure of its offices!!

 

The Motor Traffic Department (DMT) has proposed to waive off all penalties for delays caused due to the closure of the department's offices with immediate effect, (DMT) Commissioner-General Sumith Alahakoon said.

Addressing the media today, he said currently there is no way of providing services whatsoever through the online system.

"Details of the persons are required when issuing driving licences and there are certain physical documents required relating to vehicle registrations, ownership transfer process etc. (CS)

Transferring charges of vehicles due to delays caused is Rs.100 for each day after 14 days, if vehicle details were not submitted after purchasing, and the delay in paying the luxury taxes will be levied after waiving off the charges, which is mainly due to the closure of the department's offices." the Commissioner General said.
