Sinopharm vaccines are safe; no truth behind rumours: Prof. Jayasumana!!

 

State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulations of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana said China’s Sinopharm vaccines are safe ones though some people spread misconceptions about it.

He said Sri Lanka would start giving the jabs with Sinopharm once the WHO completes its emergency listing.

“We have witnessed certain scenario in which some parties are spreading views using certain media that Sinopharm vaccines aren't up to the standard. 

As a responsible state minister, I can assure you that there is no pressure from the Chinese Government to use it. It is a safe vaccine as per the data we have.  Unfortunately, certain individuals who are being used as spies spread ridiculous rumours about the vaccines,” he said.
