Three arrested over Puttalam UC Chairman’s death

 

Three persons including the driver of the cab have been arrested over the death of Puttalam Urban Council Chairman Abdul Baiz in a road accident in Puttalam yesterday.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said Puttalam and Wanathavilluwa police jointly conducted investigations into the incident and it has been brought to light that he took a bath in a tank in Ralmaduwa area and was heading towards Eluwankulam along with another three persons.

The DIG said the persons have been tested with Breathalyser Test and confirmed that they had consumed alcohol.  

The Chairman, who was on the back of the open cab, has been thrown out according to eyewitnesses.
