Exploiting 15-year-old girl: Mother, 16 others arrested

 

 

Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said the Police have launched an investigation to nab several persons who paid money to sexually exploit the girl following an arrest of a 35-year old man.

Earlier, the police arrested the main suspect  in Mount Lavinia for using the teenage girl for sex work.

It was revealed that the suspect had published various advertisements on social media luring people to exploit the girl for their sexual thirst.

SDIG Rohana said the police yesterday arrested 17 suspects including a three-wheeler driver, a car driver and the person who has designed the website for the advertising.

This brothel was stealthily functioning at an apartment in Mount Lavinia and the victim, the 15 year old girl has been forced to give company to various men who call over there for sexual needs.

It was revealed that the main suspect had taken the girl under his care from her mother, who is a resident of Delgoda. 

The spokesman said that procuration is an office under the Sri Lanka law and that the suspects would be charged under procuration, child abuse and rape.
