Measures underway to protect marine environment if ship sinks

 

Measures are underway to protect the marine environment if the MV X-Press Pearl ship sinks, Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) Chairperson Dharshani Lahandapura said.

She told the Daily Mirror that no information was received from the Navy about the sinking of the ship. 

However, the Navy said MV X-Press Pearl ship has started to sink this morning.
