Police to conduct special operations to net quarantine law violators at weekend

 

Police will conduct special operations across the country at the weekend to apprehend the persons who host parties and events violating the quarantine rules and regulations, police said.

Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said that cinemas, pubs, clubs, gymnasiums and other public gatherings are also strictly prohibited according to the health guidelines issued by the Director General of Health Services.

He said general public should adhere to the health guidelines issued by the health authorities, and that the Officers in charge of police stations have been informed to conduct operations in respect of the violation of quarantine rules and regulations.

They have also been informed to gather information through the police intelligence unit, he said.

The spokesman urged the public to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary movements or journeys.
