JVP complains to CID over false news targeting party!!

 Former JVP MP Sunil Hadunnetti said they lodged a complaint with the CID over the false news that the JVP had spent millions of rupees to promote its leader through social media.

He said they produced required evidence on the incident and expressed phope that the CID would conduct an impartial investigation.

"This campaign of malicious is operated by a faction attached to the Government. Even the Chairman of the Press Council has shared this false news on his Facebook page. It is clear that this is another occasion where the bankruptcy of the Government is ripped naked,' he said.

He said most people including the social media and youtube activists who were frustrated by the failure of this Government, are rallying round the JVP now.

"We know that prices of essential commodities have gone up drastically. Farmers are without fertilizer. Teachers have taken to the street. Students have lost opportunities for education. All the citizens of the country have been affected. The Government has been unable to fulfil any of its pledges. Most people including the social media and youtube activists who were frustrated by the failure of the Government, were rallying round the JVP now. We don't have to pay money. They have understood us properly. They are even ready to contribute not only their wealth but their labour and skills as well," he said.   

He said they condemned this mud slinging campaign and added that this was not an attack on the JVP alone but,  an attack on social media and youtube channel activists as well. (Ajith Siriwardana)
