Three arrested with four elephant pearls worth over Rs. 30 Mn!!

 

Three persons have been arrested with four elephant pearls [gajamuthu] worth over Rs. 30 million by the Police Special Task Force (STF) during a raid in Vavuniya.

According to the intelligence received by the STF, an STF team raided a car park at a restaurant in Vavuniya yesterday and arrested the suspects.

The suspects aged 29, 30 and 53 and were residents of Akurana, Mahawa and Nikaweratiya areas had come to the car park to sell elephant pearls.

They were handed over to the Vavuniya Police for further investigations.(DSB)
