Death toll due to adverse weather rises to 12: DMC!!

 

The death toll due to adverse weather has risen to 12, including eight men, two women, and two children, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said while issuing a situation report.

They said deaths were reported from Badulla (4-drowning), Matale (1-drowning), Mulativu (1-lightening), Puttalam (1-lightening), Kurunegala (2-wall collapses and drowning), Kegalla (3-landslide)

A total of 28,263 people from 7,529 families have been affected in seventeen districts, including 93 Divisional Secretariats in the country.

Five people were injured and affected. 445 people from 113 families were sent to 13 safe locations.

A total of 802 houses were partially damaged and 13 houses were fully damaged. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
