Over 1,000 suspects arrested in special raid in WP

 

A total of 1,019 persons were arrested in a special crimes prevention operation conducted in the Western Province on Saturday.

Police said the operation was conducted from 7 a.m to 5 p.m under the instructions of Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Thennakoon.

Accordingly, a total of 468 suspects against whom arrest warrants had been issued were arrested while 393 suspects were arrested in connection with other criminal offences during the raid.
