STF unveil illegal fake vehicle number plate-making racket in Vavuniya

 

A 22-year-old man, who has been operating a racket to print forged number plate similar to the number plates issued by the Department of Motor Traffic, was arrested by the STF during a raid at Thandikkulam in Vavuniya.

The raid was done based on a tip off received by STF personnel stationed in Mullaitivu.

It was disclosed that the suspect has been in this illegal business for a long time.

The suspect, a resident of Thandikulam, Vavuniya was handed over to the Vavuniya Police for further investigations.

Two forged number plates, 412 stickers with state emblem, computer and sticker cards printed as DMT were seized during the raid.
