Two boys among four gone missing after drowning

 

Four persons including two 15-year old boys were killed after they drowned in the lagoon and sea in two separate incidents in Mannar and Wattala yesterday.

The Mannar Police has commenced investigations following an alert that two people had fallen into the water while riding a motorboat in the Mannar lagoon on Sunday.

Police, with the assistance of the navy and village residents, have commenced search operations to locate their bodies. They were 21 and 27 years of age and residents of Point Pedro.

Meanwhile, two youth who went for a sea bath drowned while bathing in the seas of Preethipura at Dikkowita in Wattala.

The young teens were aged 15 and were residents of Enderamulla.

Wattala Police are conducting further investigations.
