Power cuts due to inadequate diesel supply by CPC: CEB!!

Power interruptions will be experienced around the country due inadequate supply of diesel by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to the Kelanitissa Power Station, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Additional General Manager and media spokesman Andrew Navamani said.

He said the CEB still has 300 MW of power on the national grid following the repair of one of the third 300 MW coal powerplants at Norochcholai.

If CPC will not provide the required diesel in due time, we will not be able to continue the power supply.

Therefore, several spells of power cuts would be experienced across the country, Mr. Navamani said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
