3,900MT LP gas unloaded; 80,000 cylinders could be released from today: LITRO head

 

The LITRO Gas today said that they have resumed the process of releasing 80,000 domestic gas cylinders per day, its Chairman Vijitha Herath today said.

He said the 3900MT gas shipment which was brought to the country, was unloaded yesterday and initiated the gas distribution accordingly.

The consignment of gas is sufficient for six days for the country's requirement, he s

aid.

"US$ 7 million will be paid for another two shipments on Monday (23), and will be able to assure delivery of LP gas for another two weeks," he said.

Following the recommendations of the COPE committee yesterday, 50,000 domestic gas cylinders (60%) will be distributed to Colombo and Gampaha districts today
