Limited buses, trains until 2 pm, no long distance run
Limited number of buses and trains will be in operation once the police curfew is lifted at 7.00 am.
Within the limited number of hours and until the curfew is re-imposed at 2.00 pm today, the scheduled services will be in operation.
The Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA) chairman, Gemunu Wijerathne, said the association has informed the bus owners to operate buses as much as possible to provide transport facilities for the people until 2.00 pm today.
However, there will be no long-distance buses today.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Railways Department, Dammika Jayasundara said several short distance trains have been scheduled until 2.00 pm today.
He claimed that a limited number of trains are scheduled to run between Veyangoda, Kalutara South and Panadura.
The trains will be on track after 7.00 am once the operators report for duties, the department.
Commuters are requested to contact the railway customer care desk by dialling 1971 after 8.00 am to get an update of the scheduled departure of trains.
