SJB, SLPP propose names for Dy. Speaker slot

 

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa said the party would nominate the name of Parliamentarian Rohini Kaviratne to the post of Deputy Speaker of Parliament. 

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said they would propose Parliamentarian Ajith Rajapaksa as their candidate to the post.

The Deputy Speaker post remains vacant following the resignation of former deputy speaker Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
