ஆரம்ப வாழ்க்கை பயணம் சவாலாகிய போது.!

ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்னர், யாழ்ப்பாணம் போதனா வைத்தியசாலை ஒரு அதிசயத்தை கண்டது. 

அதாவது இரட்டைக் குழந்தைகளின் பிறப்பு ஆகும். தாம் இவ்வுலகிற்கு வர விருந்த காலத்திற்கு முன்னராகவே உலகிற்கு கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட இவ் இரட்டை குழந்தைகள் இந்த உலகில் நுழைந்த தருணத்திலிருந்து நம்பமுடியாத சவால்களை எதிர்கொண்டிருந்தனர். 

எதிர்பார்த்ததை விட மிகவும் முன்னதாகவே பிறந்து இக் குழந்தைகளின் பயணம் மருத்துவமனையின் மிகவும் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்த குழந்தை பராமரிப்புக் குழுவின் பாதுகாப்பான மற்றும் அக்கறையுள்ள கைகளில் தொடங்கியது. 

இவர்கள் பிறந்த உடனேயே கண்ணாடியிலான புதிதாகப் பிறந்த குழந்தைகள் காப்பகங்களில் வைக்கப்பட்டனர், அங்கு இவர்கள் இரண்டு மாதங்கள் விழிப்புடன் கவனிப்பில் இருந்தனர். பிறந்த குழந்தை பராமரிப்பு குழுவின் அர்ப்பணிப்பு, நிபுணத்துவம் மற்றும் 24 மணிநேர கண்காணிப்பு ஆகியவை இந்த விலைமதிப்பற்ற உயிர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் வலுவாக வளர சிறந்த வாய்ப்பைக் கொண்டிருப்பதை உறுதி செய்யப்பட்டன. இரு மாதங்கள் அவர்களின் பெற்றோரும் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளின் சவாலான காலங்களை பார்த்து இனிதே குழந்தைகளுடன் வீடு சென்றனர்.

One year ago, Teaching Hospital Jaffna witnessed a miracle—the birth of twin babies who were brought into the world prematurely. From the moment they entered this world, these tiny fighters faced incredible odds. Born much earlier than expected, their journey began in the safe and caring hands of the hospital's highly specialized neonatal team.

Immediately after their birth, the fragile newborns were placed in incubators, where they remained under vigilant care for two months. The neonatal team's dedication, expertise, and round-the-clock monitoring ensured that these precious lives had the best possible chance to grow stronger each day. The parents also spent two months in the hospital environment with their heart and mind always to the babies. After two months the family reached home.

The story of these twins is not just a tale of survival; it’s a testament to the extraordinary care provided by the neonatal unit at Teaching Hospital Jaffna. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the hospital, highlighting the advancements in neonatal care and the unwavering commitment of the medical staff.

Fast forward to today, and the story has come full circle. The parents of these resilient twins recently returned to the hospital, not for a check-up, but to celebrate a joyous occasion—their babies' first birthday. The celebration was a heartwarming reunion with the very team that had played such a crucial role in their children's early lives.

With their babies in their arms, the proud parents expressed deep gratitude to the neonatal team, who had become like family during those critical early months. As the twins were surrounded by the team that had cared for them so meticulously, something truly magical happened—both babies smiled at the caring team, a gesture that spoke volumes.
