Yevan David dedicates racing titles to the People of Sri Lanka

 

Young racing sensation Yevan David, the first Sri Lankan to win the Rookie Championship and secure second place overall in the 2025 Euroformula Open Championship, has dedicated his historic achievements to the people of Sri Lanka.

David met with Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, yesterday (December 11) at the Ministry, where he handed over the trophies he won, describing them as symbols of this landmark victory for the nation.

Speaking after the meeting, Minister Gamage praised David’s accomplishments, saying they brought great honour to Sri Lanka. He also assured that the government will continue to provide full support for young athletes pursuing excellence.

Following his exceptional performance in the 2025 Euroformula Open Championship, Yevan David is preparing to enter the 2026 FIA Formula 3 series, which will make him the first Sri Lankan to compete in top-tier global motor racing events.
