Karthi asks swift justice for Pollachi gang rape victims unlike Nirbhaya!!

It has taken seven long years for the rapists and murderers of 23-year-old physiotherapist intern Nirbhaya to be brought to justice. The four convicts Mukesh Singh (32), Pawan Gupta (25), Vinay Sharma (26) and Akshay Kumar Singh (31) were hanged to death this morning much to the delight of the entire nation.


Actor Karthi has welcomed the execution and has written on Twitter "Finally justice for Nirbhaya after 8 years. Wondering how long it will take for the Pollachi case to find justice. It’s been a year already. Hope we don’t forget the lessons we learnt from it! Always stay safe.

A year back Sabarirajan alias Riswanth, Thirunavakarasu, a money lender, M Satish, owner of a textile shop, T Vasanthakumar, assistant of Thirunavakarasu, and Manivannan all hailing from Pollachi were arrested for luring several young girls in the name of love, gangraping them and then using video tapes of the acts to blackmail them for money. A video of a girl being beaten up and begging them to spare her and then giving up to their demands unable to bear the pain wrenched the hearts of the people when released.
