President’s meeting with SLC officials postponed: Namal

 

The meeting between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and officials from the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) along with the Cricket Committee scheduled to be held today has been postponed, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa said.

The minister tweeted this morning that SLC officials will meet the President today to brief on the short and long-term strategy for the development of cricket from school to the national level.

He said the discussion will also focus on the way forward along with requirements for the development of the sport.

However, Minister Rajapaksa later tweeted that the meeting was pushed back to a later date.

However, both the President and Prime Minister remain committed to uplifting the standard of cricket together with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, he said.
