Sinopharm first dose for 30 plus

The first dose of Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccine will be given today for the people who are over 30 years of age at the Colombo Municipal Council's (CMC) vaccination centres. 

The CMC Regional Epidemiologist Dr. Dinu Guruge said Sinopharm first jab would be given at the P.D. Sirisena Playgrounds, Kettarama Temple, Campbell Park, Sithumina Hall and Roxy Garden.

The Epidemiologist made it clear that the vaccination drive is only for residents of Colombo 1 to 15 and Colombo City employees.

Meanwhile, people aged between 55 and 69 and who got the first dose of Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccines at CMC centres, will get an SMS in the next 5 to 6 days for the second jab. 

"We strictly say that no walk-ins as usual. We will have a system to monitor the crowd that hasn't got the SMS," she said.
