17 passengers injured after bus topples in Padiyathalawa

 

A bus carrying a group of pilgrims on the Mahaoya Padiyathalawa road has toppled injuring 17 passengers, police said.

They said the bus which was travelling from Kilinochchi to Kataragama met with the accident near the Galode bridge in Padiyathalawa as the driver could not control the vehicle.

The injured passengers were admitted to the Maha Oya Hospital.

The driver has been arrested by the police in connection with the incident.
