Low-level disturbance near Sri Lanka likely to intensify: Meteorology Dept

 

The Department of Meteorology has warned that a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the Bay of Bengal, located to the southeast of Sri Lanka, is likely to intensify in the coming days. 

As a result, showery conditions are expected to increase across the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva, and Central provinces starting from January 8.

Authorities have urged the public to stay alert and follow updates and forecasts issued by the Meteorology Department.
