Chemmani Mass Grave Excavation – Phase 3 | Day 6

Excavations continued today under the supervision of Jaffna Magistrate S. LeninKumar, where 2 additional human skeletons were identified.   Three previously identified skeletons were fully excavated today.

Across all three phases, a total of 245 skeletons have been identified, with 243 fully exhumed so far.

Forensic excavation site 1: 234 skeletons

Forensic excavation site 2: 9 skeletons

The excavation was carried out with the involvement of archaeologist Prof. Raj Somadeva and JMO Dr. Pranavan Selliah.
