இலங்கை அரசின் குற்றங்களை சர்வதேச குற்றவியல் நீதிமன்றில் விசாரிக்க வேண்டும் . மியன்மாரில் இடம்பெற்ற குற்றங்களை விசாரிக்க சர்வதேச குற்றவியல் நீதிமன்றில் விசாரிக்க வேண்டுமென மனித உரிமைகள் பேரவே ஆணையாளர் வலியுறுததியுள்ள நிலையில் இலங்கைக்கும் அதுபொருந்தும்.

ITEM 2 General Debate on oral briefings
Mr. President,
Accountability becomes uncompromisable not only to ensure genuine reconciliation, but also to ensure non-recurrence. In Sri Lanka, since the end of the war 8 years ago, governments have been functioning on the logic that since the UNHRC cannot compel it to deliver on accountability, and since Member States have still not come around to compel accountability on Sri Lanka, it can do as it wishes with impunity.

Consequently Sri Lanka has expedited its agenda of transforming the State into a Sinhala Buddhist Ethnocracy with devastating effects on the ground. The Tamil Nation within Sri Lanka is being systematically dismantled after the Tamil armed resistance came to an end. With the confidence that it can achieve its goal of structural genocide of the Tamils before the world wakes up, it has now turned on the Muslims who are economically strong in challenging Sinhala hegemony.

We therefore plead with Member States to wake up before it is too late for the Tamils and the Muslims in Sri Lanka. Whilst the UN Human Rights High Commissioner, in his oral statement has called for Member States to consider alternate avenues to the UNHRC, we appeal to the Member States to consider the High Commissioners recommendation that Myanmar be referred to the ICC, to be relevant for Sri Lankas situation as well.
