Legal action against those who obtain fuel fraudulently using QR codes

Technical background to minimise incidents relating to fraudulently obtaining fuel under the quota system by stealing QR codes of other people is underway, Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) Director Dasun Hegoda said.

He said appropriate action will follow in the future against such fraudulent recipients by the Power and Energy Ministry.

Therefore, the ICTA Director requested the national fuel pass users not to expose the QR code likely to be visible to others, to ensure that no one other than the holder uses it.
